Transfer Application

Before applying your transfer, it is important to ensure that painted surfaces are completely dry and that the paint has sufficiently cured. If you are using chalk paint, you may need to seal it first with a water-based sealer to ensure optimal adhesion. For best results, it is recommended to apply transfers onto light-coloured backgrounds that are free of debris and have been thoroughly cleaned prior to application.

It is important to position your transfer properly before removing the white sheet to ensure that it is placed exactly where you want it. Keep in mind that transfers will not adhere to waxed surfaces, so it is important to avoid these surfaces.

If you are new to the technique, it is recommended to use the practice transfer that comes with every order to get a better feel for the process. When cutting around the image, it is best to leave no more than 5mm to ensure the best possible results. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your transfers are applied seamlessly and look their best.

To ensure that the transfer image is well-prepared, it is crucial to cut it out while leaving no more than 5mm of excess material.

If there are multiple images on a single transfer sheet, it is necessary to cut each one out individually.

After completing the cutting process, it’s essential to remove the white protective sheet from the transfer image cautiously. Remember that the adhesive side will now be exposed, so handle it with care to avoid any accidents.

To get started, position the transfer over the intended surface with the sticky side facing downwards.

Next, use your finger to gently rub the transfer onto the surface to create initial adhesion.

Finally, apply even pressure over the transfer with a rubbing stick or a similar object to ensure that it adheres evenly and properly.

To remove the translucent sheet from the image, place one hand on the translucent sheet, and with your nail, gently separate the translucent sheet from the image, beginning in one corner. Make sure to do it slowly and check that the image has adhered to the surface.

If the image isn’t releasing from the translucent sheet, place it back down and continue rubbing until it does.

After removing the translucent sheet, use your finger to smooth out any areas that need flattening.

Use sandpaper ( 800 grit) to gently blend in the edges of your transfer.

To protect your transfer apply a water based top coat.
